SSE Energy Markets secure the energy needed to power customers' lives, while creating value for SSE. Our Energy Markets trading teams buy the fuel needed to deliver cleaner energy and sell power generated in our wind farm, hydro and thermal assets back to the markets.

The role

We’re seeking a Change Manager to join our Change and System Operations team, driving business and IT change within Energy Markets and supporting bespoke energy trading applications. You’ll ensure business readiness across projects, aligning efforts with strategic principles and organisational value. Using LEAN management and project planning, you’ll lead successful project implementations.

You will

  • Lead the delivery of strategic Business Change projects within SSE’s Energy Markets business, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communication and engagement plan to foster stakeholder buy-in, selecting the most effective tools and channels for each group.
  • Take ownership of specific projects, collaborating with the business to define requirements, identify solutions, oversee testing, and manage the successful implementation of those solutions.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships at all levels, working closely with both business and IT teams to influence, negotiate, and ensure alignment with business priorities.
  • Represent the business perspective in discussions, ensuring that all project decisions reflect the strategic needs of the organisation and contribute to long-term success.

You have

  • Experience across all Business Change disciplines, particularly in large-scale transformational projects and programmes, with a strong focus on customer benefits.
  • Proven ability to deliver within tight timescales, effectively prioritising, planning, and organising to balance immediate and long-term business priorities.
  • In-depth knowledge of change management techniques, models, and theories, with practical experience applying them in business contexts; LEAN management skills are a plus.
  • Strong ability to drive initiatives to successful conclusion, ensuring effective execution and delivering results.
  • Excellent networking and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at senior levels.

Base Location: Perth, Edinburgh or Glasgow – this is a hybrid role working a minimum two days a week from the office at one of the advertised locations.

Salary: £47,600 - £71,600 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.
