Mobile Chemist / Haz Waste Collection Driver

We are seeking either a part time mobile waste chemist or a hazardous waste collection driver to join our company. The successful candidate will be driving a LWB van attending customer sites to collect hazardous waste and delivering them to disposal site, ensuring all waste is transported safely and compliantly with waste and road regulations.

Location: Based in Irvine

Responsibilities

• Collection and loading of waste onto transport vehicle with the aid of material handling equipment where required making it safe and suitable for transportation, safely driving company vehicle to the hazardous waste transfer station for disposal and when on the premises make for safe and efficient off-loading.
• Ensure all waste collected matches paperwork and is suitable for transport
• Ensure Legal documentation is completed with accuracy regarding the consignments of waste collections
• Perform routine maintenance checks on collection vehicle to ensure it is in good working order.
• Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures ensuring all requirements met on clients sites and waste transfer stations while performing duties, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Assist in the listing, segregation, packaging and labelling of waste items.
• Ensuring collection documentation is completed accurately.
• Maintain accurate records of collections and report any issues or incidents to manager

Experience
Ideal candidates will possess the following skills:

• Experience in working with hazardous chemicals and or the waste industry
• Full UK Driving License
• Must be over age of 25 for insurance purposes.
• Comfortable with driving LWB van
• Effective time management skills
• Excellent customer service skills

Job Type: Part-time

Expected hours: 8 – 24 per week

Schedule: Day shift
