Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Bid Manager to lead and further develop our bid and tender function. This role requires strong bid management and proposal development experience, combined with the ability to work collaboratively across departments to support business growth and secure new opportunities. The Bid Manager will ensure the delivery of high-quality, compliant, and competitive submissions while supporting the organisation through effective planning, coordination, and performance monitoring throughout the bid lifecycle.

Reporting directly to the Head of Enterprise Sales, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Bid writing process and ensure effective communication with teams across the organisation.

As a growing and dynamic company, we are looking for a knowledgeable and capable candidate who can manage the day-to-day running of the bid writing function, hit the ground running, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Hours/Contract: 22.5 hours per week/Part Time/Permanent

Report to: Head of Enterprise Sales

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 Pro rata

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full bid lifecycle, including RFIs, RFPs, tenders, submissions, clarifications, and negotiations.
  • Coordinate bid planning, timelines, governance, and stakeholder inputs across teams.
  • Review tender requirements and ensure all submissions are compliant, accurate, and high quality.
  • Develop bid strategies, win themes, and compelling customer-focused responses.
  • Work with commercial and operational teams to balance competitiveness and profitability.
  • Lead clarification queries and best-and-final-offer activity, coordinating inputs and maintaining a clear audit trail of commitments and changes.
  • Maintain bid templates, case studies, and content libraries to improve efficiency and win rates.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams and supply chain partners to strengthen submissions.
  • Deliver compliant, high-quality bids on time with effective version control and governance.
  • Drive continuous improvement in bid quality, turnaround times, and overall competitiveness.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required

  • Practical experience in enterprise bid writing.
  • Bid management experience.
  • Organisational skills, manage multiple bids simultaneously.
  • Understanding enterprise sales.

Core competencies

  • Strong proposal writing skills, with the ability to translate tender requirements into clear, structured, and compelling responses aligned to evaluation criteria.
  • Confident stakeholder management, ensuring timely inputs, resolving gaps, and driving progress through review and approval stages.
  • Experience managing bid governance and quality assurance, including compliance tracking, version control, and final submission reviews.
  • Good commercial and procurement awareness, with the ability to work effectively with procurement, sales, finance, and operational teams to support competitive proposals.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in bid/proposal writing or bid management within enterprise, public, or private sector environments (BSL fluency advantageous).

Experience/Education/Certifications

  • 2+ years’ bid/proposal writing experience, ideally within enterprise, public sector, or regulated procurement environments.
