Warehouse Operative

Location: Lochore
Hours: Full-time, permanent (6am – 2:18pm, but with flexibility to cover 5am – 3:18pm and weekends)
Rate of Pay: £13.85 per hour

Baynes the Family Bakers have a proud history serving local communities for over 70 years. We are entering an exciting phase of investment and expansion, with significant plans to enhance our production capability. As part of this journey, we are looking to recruit an additional Warehouse Operative to join our growing team.

The Role

You will be responsible for assisting the day to day operations of our warehouse, including receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock and monitoring inventory levels. This position offers scope for career progression and development as our business continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities

• Goods Inward/Outward: Receiving, inspecting and unloading deliveries. Ensuring all goods are documented and are to the correct quality and quantity
• Inventory Control: Maintaining accurate inventory records, conducting regular stock takes and informing management of low stock levels or damages
• Logistics & Distribution: Picking materials and organising dispatches, often using forklifts
• Safety: Ensuring the store area is clean, safe and compliant with health and safety regulation
• Administration: Using computer systems to log stock movements, updating spreadsheets and placing orders

About You

• Prior experience in a store or warehouse environment, preferably within the Food industry
• Counterbalance Forklift licence essential, Reach Truck licence desirable
• IT literate with ability to use company inventory software
• Strong organisational and inventory management skills
• Physically fir with ability to lift and move heavy items
