Barnardo's Springboard is part of our Highland Service's and is commissioned by the Highland Council to provide a throughcare and aftercare service to young people aged 16-26 years who are leaving care in Highland.
The successful applicant will work directly with young people who who have been looked after by the local authority. The Successful Candidate will have responsibility for the aftercare journey and coordinating the pathway planning for each young person as part of the Springboard Service.
Your application should clearly evidence that you have strong assessment skills and experience in report writing and recording and that you have a relevant qualification alongside practical experience for this role including being able to asses need and co-ordinate a plan of support for young people, offering advice and guidance to enable young people to work towards agreed outcomes to aid the transition to independence. Your application should also evidence that you understand basic safeguarding principles and how to respond to safeguarding concerns, you have a clear understanding of The Promise (Scotland) and how to apply this within this role and you have a knowledge and understanding of the impact of ACE's and how these specifically can impact care experienced young people.
Experience of managing a caseload and working with multi-agency partners is essential.

For this this role you will be predominately covering Fort-William, Lochaber and Skye but with a requirement to travel to and from our Barnardo's Highland Service Office at Rail House Inverness when required. This post is requires flexible working to meet the needs of the service and at least one evening a week and one saturday per month.
