International Regional Manager

Job Description

Qualifications Scotland is Scotland’s national awarding body, designing and delivering trusted qualifications that recognise knowledge and skills. Based in Scotland, the qualifications we create are valued and used worldwide.

We are looking for an International Regional Manager to join our International team. The role will involve working in one of our key strategic markets overseas and will involve a considerable amount of travel.

As International Regional Manager you will be responsible for leading, managing, developing and implementing Qualifications Scotland’s Sales activity in a key region to ensure achievement of income and budget targets, corporate objectives and reputation as an International Awarding Body. To do this you must have experience in the following specific duties:

  • proactively building a strong sales function including a regional strategy and maximising opportunities and prospects for business growth.
  • be the ‘voice of the customer internally’, identifying and ensuring resolution of issues.
  • work with the Marketing function to define valid segmentation of the market, the offer to various customers, devise sales campaigns and ensure effective business development coverage.
  • excellent communication (verbal and written) and influencing skills that allow you to build close, strategic business relationships
  • manage and organise incoming visits from major clients and customers
  • manage key accounts for international customers and contribute to the development of events, stakeholder engagement and sponsorship plans and provide support to these as required.
  • be able to travel to countries that Qualifications Scotland may wish to operate in or already has business with.

Additionally, you will ideally also have the following skills and experience:

  • a strong track record of business development in an international arena. They should also bring experience of resolving customer complaints and monitoring customer preferences to determine the focus of sales efforts.
  • a commercial understanding of practices used in international businesses.
  • The postholder should have proven leadership and motivational skills with a track record of achieving commercial success. The team are based both in Scotland and in the designated region.
  • Have strong cultural awareness of the environment Qualifications Scotland operates in internationally
  • educated to SCQF Level 9 (Ordinary Degree/SVQ 4) and/or be able to demonstrate direct relevant experience for this role.
