About the Role

Are you looking to take your Training Design expertise to the next level?

Lockheed Martin UK Strategic Systems is seeking an experienced Training Designer to develop and deliver impactful training solutions. This is an opportunity to shape the skills & knowledge of our workforce - we are looking for an enthusiastic team member who can bring fresh ideas to training design and delivery, implementing learning that is blended and transformational.

The post is based at HMNB Clyde, Helensburgh with excellent flexible working patterns available: (9/75) 9-day fortnight or (4xFlex) 4-day week (days can vary depending on training delivery schedules). Hybrid working with remote working typically 1-2 days per week.

Duties / Responsibilities
  • Responsible for developing of high-quality Training design, e-learning and courseware materials using a variety of media and technology.
  • Conduct reviews of training documentation in accordance with company and Defence quality standards
  • Conduct structured interviews with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to capture training requirements
  • Scriptwriting/Storyboarding
  • Support operational training outputs and wider training team goals
The successful candidate must achieve the appropriate level (SC) of security clearance. More details can be found here.

Required skills, qualifications and experience

? Training Design experience in Engineering, Defence, Armed Forces or similar
? Passion for high-quality, attention to detail, and the ability to plan and deliver to deadlines
? Adopt a flexible approach to the role, adapting to evolving priorities
? Strong communication and presentation skills — confident in front of a room
? Proficient in use of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

Desirable skills

  • Training Needs Analysis
  • Training and/or instructional design background
  • Knowledge of Strategic Weapon System (SWS)

Business Environment

Lockheed Martin UK – Strategic Systems (LMUK SS) is the single contractor providing specialist Waterfront In-Service Support to one of the Royal Navy's Submarine Programs. The company provides the Ministry of Defence (MoD) with safe, efficient and responsive support. LMUK SS, as part of the ABL Alliance with AWE and Babcock, is also responsible for the management of operations at RNAD Coulport.
