THE POST – REQ000541 - Security Supervisor
The University of West of Scotland have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Security professional to join our Campus Services Team as a Security Supervisor.
Within this role the successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day operational supervision and delivery of high-quality university security operations, with a focus on staff and student wellbeing and safety across all campus locations. You will supervise and coordinate security staff across multiple campuses during your shift, ensuring consistent delivery of service and effective resource deployment.
You will manage control room operations, oversee security systems and processes, and act as the first point of escalation for security matters. As well as this you will also act as the senior point of contact in the absence of the Security Services Manager, taking responsibility for operational decision-making and incident management during this time.
The role includes responsibility for incident management, security requests and physical security controls, including oversight of systems such as CCTV, key management and request management platforms, ensuring compliance with university policies and relevant legislation, including data protection requirements.
The postholder will promote a culture of safety, professionalism and continuous improvement, support staff development and ensuring delivery of services in line with the university’s values of Integrity, Inclusivity, Respect and Accountability.
The successful candidate should have the following:
A valid qualification in First Aid at Work
- A valid fire safety / management of fire safety qualification or relevant experience in this area.
- Additional training in conflict management
- Experience of providing security supervision within a university or similar setting.
- A working knowledge of CCTV operation and its data management.
- Previous experience of supervising a team of staff to deliver high quality customer services to meet operational aims and objectives.
- An understanding of security planning for operational success, resource management and emergency service management
