Lairage Operative

We are currently seeking a Lairage Operative to safeguard the livestock. The person will be part of the Lairage team reporting to the Abattoir Manager.

Responsibilities

• Safeguard the wellbeing of livestock.
• Move livestock to secure holding pens causing minimal stress.
• Keep the abattoir serviced with livestock.
• Keep the lairage facilities clean and tidy.
• Adhere to Company hygiene practices & animal welfare procedures.
• Comply with health & safety rules, to prevent / minimise the risk of accidents.
• Participate in training, in accordance with your personal training plan.
• Carry out any additional duties that may be reasonably requested by the manager.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial but full training will be given for inexperienced people keen to learn the trade:

• Good attention to detail.
• Able to use own initiative.
• Good communication skills.
• Self-motivated.
• Able to work as part of a team.
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
• Experience with livestock, desirable but not a requirement.

Pay

• £12.21 p/h

Shift 

• Monday – Friday
• 6:30am - 3:10pm
