Information Infrastructure Assistant
We are currently looking for an Information Infrastructure Assistant to join our strong Commercial team.
The primary focus is to complete the daily workload of the department, including the production, maintenance and development of information throughout the network. As well as the creation of staff and customer information noticing (using specialised software) relating to a wide variety of topics across to our network, you will also be involved with the on-street distribution of such noticing. You will liaise with colleagues and external contractors with regards to roadworks, diversions and other infrastructure related matters. You will also assist in the upkeep of Passenger Information Systems including destination equipment and on-board screens. From time to time the position may involve other light duties to assist within the wider Commercial team.
Responsibilities of the role
- Liaise with colleagues and external contractors regarding roadworks, diversions and other infrastructure related matters
- Assist in the upkeep of the internal LB Roads databases.
- Use specialised software to create artwork for timetable panels and bus stop flags across the network
- Use specialised software to create internal and external notices relating to diversions and other changes to company services.
- Undertake fitting and minor maintenance of timetable casings and bus stop flags across the network
- Manage, diagnose and repair any faults with our ‘on-board Passenger Information System’
- Manage, diagnose and repair any faults with destination equipment
- Represent the company’s interests with stakeholder’s and supplier’s
- Complete the delivery of the company’s timetable leaflets
- Deploy temporary stops and notices as required for diversions, road closures and bus stop closures
- Ensure compliance with the company’s Health and Safety policies
Requirements for the role
- Full UK Driving Licence
- A degree of flexibility to work various shift patterns including weekends and Bank Holiday’s
- Ability to learn new software packages, and a good understanding of Microsoft Office
- Knowledge or previous experience with Adobe Illustrator and InDesign software packages or similar design software
- Good geographical knowledge of Edinburgh and the Lothians.
- A keen eye for detail and a strong ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent knowledge of the company’s network and fare structures (desirable)
- Good knowledge of other operators’ services in the Lothian operating area (desirable)
- Valid PCV licence (desirable)
