About the role

The Procurement Business Partner (PBP) acts as the primary procurement interface with their designated departments. The role ensures procurement is embedded early in decision-making, driving value and compliance. The PBP provides strategic guidance and category insight to support operational objectives and long-term organisational goals.

About the Recruitment Process

The recruitment process for this role will be comprised of 2 in person interviews. The first stage interview will be held with our Head of Procurement, and our Head of Finance. For successful candidates, the second stage interview will be held with our Head of Procurement, our Procurement Business Partner, and a stakeholder from one of the relevant departments in our business.

Both interviews will be competency based, with technical questions, and questions on Edinburgh Airport’s values. Prior to the second stage interview, we may also ask candidates to complete an Insights Discovery profile.

What you’ll be doing

  • Build strong relationships with departments to understand operational needs and upcoming requirements.
  • Develop procurement strategies and sourcing plans.
  • Facilitate early engagement with Procurement to maximise value and minimise risk.
  • Lead sourcing activities aligned to category strategies and organisational policies.
  • Conduct market analysis, supplier assessments, and pricing evaluations.
  • Negotiate commercial terms to achieve best total cost of ownership (TCO).
  • Draft, review, and support negotiation of contracts in collaboration with Legal and relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure procurement activity aligns with internal policies, financial controls, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and manage commercial, operational, and supply-chain risks and add to Risk Register.
  • Support Contract Managers at quarterly review meetings for supplier performance and delivery of KPIs
  • Support Capital Commercial Managers on Opex Requirements for Tenders.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, reporting, and audit documentation.
  • Deliver cost savings, value-for-money outcomes, and budget efficiencies.
  • Support forecasting and budget reviews with the Finance Business Partners.
  • Lead or support improvement projects to optimise processes, tools, and ways of working.
