Trainee Tax Specialist

Findlays chartered accountants have offices in Dundee and Arbroath. We offer accounts, taxation and business advisory and support services to a wide range of businesses and individuals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Computation of personal and corporation tax.
• Preparation of income and expenditure accounts from source records 
• Preparation of tax returns for individuals, partnerships and limited companies
• Tax compliance work 
• Work on own an initiative as well as working as part of a team
• Attend block release/training days as required for exams 
• Provide cover for other departments as and when required

About You:

We’re looking for someone who is polite, friendly, and approachable. You’re confident working independently, happy to ask questions when you need to, and you take pride in doing things properly with a keen eye for detail. 

Skills & Experience:

• Part-qualified or interested in pursuing a tax or accountancy qualification
• IT literate, experience of using Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Outlook
• High standard of accuracy and presentation
• Experience of managing multiple priorities/deadlines
• Excellent communication skills; both written and verbally
• The ability to work as part of a team and own your own initiative
• Experience of handling confidential information appropriately

Permanent Role, 35 hours per week, Mon-Thurs 9am-5pm, Fri 9am-4pm.
