Engineering Workshop Technician x2

Permanent, Full Time, 35 Hours per week.

Salary: Grade 4 £33,276 – £35,791 per annum pro rata (Successful candidates will commence at £33,276 per annum)


City of Glasgow College is recruiting an Engineering Workshop Technicians to join our Technician Team. In this role, you will maintain and repair equipment and machinery, as well as fabricate components. Every day brings something different—from diagnosing faults to machining precision parts and assisting with STEM set-ups—making this position ideal for someone who enjoys variety and takes pride in high-quality workmanship.


To apply for this position, you must hold a relevant engineering qualification, such as a recognised apprenticeship, HNC/SVQ Level 3, or have equivalent work experience. You should have previous experience in a workshop, maintenance, or engineering technician role and possess a strong knowledge of mechanical systems. Competence in welding and fabrication, along with the ability to operate machining equipment confidently and accurately, is essential, while experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems is desirable. The successful candidate will have good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work. In addition, you should demonstrate proven IT skills, including maintaining PPM records and SDS & COSHH folders, and a strong commitment to health and safety.
