Viewlands Primary School, Perth
The Depute Head Teacher at Viewlands will support the Head Teacher in providing strong, strategic leadership for the school and will play a key role in securing high-quality learning experiences and positive outcomes for all pupils. The role will include the remit for our Primary 5 - 7 classes.
The post holder will contribute to the leadership and management of Viewlands Primary School which is large and diverse, promoting a culture of high expectations, inclusion, and continuous improvement. They will lead and manage various aspects of learning and teaching, support staff development, and work collaboratively to move the school forward on its improvement journey.

Skills & Experience Required

Proven experience of effective leadership within a primary school setting, with the ability to support, motivate, and challenge colleagues.
Strong resilience and emotional intelligence, with the capacity to remain calm, solution-focused, and professional in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
A clear track record of leading and managing high-quality learning and teaching, including monitoring, evaluation, and improvement of practice.
Ability to build and sustain excellent relationships with pupils, staff, parents, and external partners, promoting a positive, inclusive school culture.
Experience of contributing to school improvement planning, self-evaluation, and driving change to improve outcomes for learners.
Strong understanding of inclusive practice, equity, and wellbeing, particularly in a diverse school community.
Highly effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively and manage difficult conversations sensitively.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands.
Excellent IT and digital skills, with confidence in using technology to support learning and teaching, staff development, data analysis, and school communication.
A clear commitment to professional learning, reflective practice, and ongoing leadership development.
