Join us as a Senior Governance Manager

  • We’ll look to you to provide professional corporate governance advice to support our bank, its franchises, functions, and subsidiary companies in delivering their strategic objectives
  • You’ll act as a trusted advisor to senior governance stakeholders, guiding our governance framework, and ensuring compliance with our bank’s policies and legal and regulatory requirements
  • This is your opportunity to thrive in your career, champion the potential of our business, and make a far-reaching impact through your work
  • Our team operates within a hybrid working model so you'll work from home some of the time, coming into the office 2-3 days per week to collaborate closely with your colleagues

What you'll do

As a Senior Governance Manager, you’ll offer advice on a range of corporate governance matters impacting board and executive committee-level stakeholders, while identifying opportunities to improve the corporate governance framework and processes. Alongside this, you’ll be managing relationships with stakeholders, providing briefings, and acting as a key point of contact for advice on corporate governance matters.

Your top priorities will include:

  • Leading corporate governance activities and projects that support the bank’s strategy
  • Advising on board governance and legal entity management issues, including governance simplification, policy adherence, and board and committee effectiveness
  • Advising key stakeholders on our Corporate Governance Policy, subsidiary governance framework, and regulatory requirements
  • Keeping up to date with all relevant legal and regulatory developments to ensure that local policies are updated accordingly

The skills you'll need

To succeed in this role, you’ll need experience advising on corporate governance or legal and regulatory frameworks pertaining to large and complex financial services organisations. It would also be beneficial if you have knowledge of our bank’s structure, its businesses, and key issues they face. In addition, you’ll bring the ability to manage highly confidential information in a discreet and professional manner.

Furthermore, you’ll need:

  • To be a collaborative team player, capable of building good working relationships up to an executive level across the bank
  • The ability to collaborate effectively, alongside excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and organisational skills
  • Experience preparing papers and advising on complex regulatory requirements and how they impact the bank’s structure and businesses
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks, anticipate problems, react to changing priorities, challenge others, and assert your views when required
