At Carraig View, we provide a safe, supportive and nurturing home for up to four children and young people. Based in Port Glasgow, the service offers a therapeutic and relationship-based environment where children and young people are supported to build confidence, develop independence and achieve positive outcomes.
Our team plays an important role in creating a stable and caring home environment where children and young people feel listened to, valued and encouraged to thrive. Through consistent support, positive relationships and meaningful day-to-day experiences, we help every child feel safe, supported and able to reach their potential.
As a Support Practitioner, you will play an important role in helping children and young people feel safe, supported and valued within a nurturing residential environment. Through building positive relationships and providing consistent day-to-day support, you will help children and young people develop confidence, life skills and emotional wellbeing while encouraging them to reach their full potential.
Working as part of a supportive team, you will provide person centred care tailored to individual needs, helping to create a therapeutic environment where children and young people can build trust, feel included and experience positive relationships. You will support children and young people through daily routines, activities, education and community involvement while helping them build independence, resilience and confidence.

We are looking for someone who is compassionate, patient and committed to supporting children and young people to achieve positive outcomes. You will have a reflective and person centred approach, good self awareness and the ability to build positive and trusting relationships. You should be able to communicate effectively, work well as part of a team and remain calm and supportive in challenging situations. Experience within care and/or education is desirable, along with good planning, recording and IT skills. A full manual driving licence is required. Knowledge of attachment theory and trauma informed practice would also be beneficial.
