Join a critical team within Offshore O&M Operations Engineering. The objective of the role is to strive for excellence in integrity management of the systems under the SCADA & Cyber Security teams remit to ensure that Scottish Power Renewables long-term asset value and production revenue are maximised. You will also support the development and implementation of new cyber security systems and processes for the business.
We are looking for engaged engineers to join the team to provide technical advice & expertise affecting combined OPEX of up to £6m/year. The O&M Engineer is a qualified, experienced engineering professional with good knowledge of SCADA & control systems, information and operational technology and cyber security.
This role is a unique opportunity work alongside Iberdrola’s extensive global technical experts to deep dive into engineering topics and observe the impact of your efforts.
What you’ll be doing
In this role you’ll assist with the delivery of O&M works across several interfaces on various Scottish Power Renewables offshore projects in the UK.
You will be responsible for supporting our offshore operational sites with specific technical expertise for our internal and third-party SCADA and control systems, IT/OT networks, communications systems, SCADA and control room equipment. Delivering the proactive and reactive maintenance on corporate and third-party equipment such as network switches, firewalls, HMI’s and servers.
With guidance you will help deliver the companies cyber security plan with requirements from both local regulatory and global Cyber Security initiatives.
Providing advice on O&M solutions / risk levels affecting technical integrity or asset performance to the Lead O&M Engineers, Site, Department Managers or external contractors or OEMs, to ensure that cost effective O&M solutions are identified, fully evaluated and the risk profile can be reduced appropriately by the O&M teams.
You’ll work alongside internal and external stakeholders to ensure delivery of O&M works within time, to budget and quality following industry best practice and observing the maximum respect for Health, Safety and the Environment to ensure regulatory and legal compliance. You’ll ensure that all assessment, advice and recommendations are fully documented in accordance with all internal procedures and industry best practice, and that sufficient technical and commercial due diligence (whether internal or external) exists to support those business decisions.
Provide O&M input and support to the projects throughout the whole life cycle and ensure appropriate lessons learnt regarding offshore wind farm operation and Maintenance are captured.
What You'll Bring
Our ideal candidate for this role will possess demonstrable experience in O&M delivery within the offshore or onshore wind sector with a history of managing and resolving issues on projects covering technical and operational matters.
In this role there will be a requirement for travel for business meetings and project site visits, therefore flexibility and willingness to travel is essential. This could also involve travel to offshore assets, which requires a certain level of fitness supported with medical / GWO certificate according to Renewable UK (RUK) and Global Wind Organisation (GWO) standards.
